BLUE MALLOW
(Malva silvestris)

Bi-annual plant from 0,30 to 0,70 m common of the roads (but which grows only near inhabited places) of which one use flowers and leaves.

Blue mallow is slightly laxative and soothes inflamed mucous membranes, it is effective against cough, hoarseness, laryngitis, sore throat dry mouth as a tea or gargle.
Also: Conjunctivitis, blepharitis, rosacea, boils, stings.
In external use : Conjunctivitis, blepharitis, blotches, furoncles, hemmoroids.



Infusion : One spoonful for one boiling cup of water, let infuse 10 minutes ; 3 cups a day.

Cold maceration : Let macerate during one night, 1 spoonfull for 1/4 of liter of water and slightly heat the next morning.

Lotion and compresses with the herb tea against skin irritation or red eyes.
