Littoral alga of the English Channel and Atlantic coast from 0,10 to 0,20 m of which one uses the thallus.

Carrageen is especially used as a laxative.
Also : Bronchitis, rickets, obesity.


Out of infusion : 5 g for 1 liter of water ; 3 to 6 cups a day.
