Crawling hardy perennial of the grassy grounds growing to 0,10 m of which one uses the aerial parts and the roots. Tormentil contains more tanins than the bark of oak, very astringent, as a gargarism it releives inflammation of the throat, mouth ulcers, gums infections. Also : Diarrhoeas, dysentery, colitis, irritation of the intestine, metritis, heumorroid, haemorrhages. In external use : Contusions, burns, mouth ulcers, vaginal discharge. Out of infusion : 15 to 30 g for 1 liter of boiling water, let infuse during 10 minutes, drink in two days. In external use for compress : 2 handfuls for 1 liter of water, boil during 10 minutes.
