Hardy perennial of the wet places and marshes from 0,50 to 1,2 m of which one uses the flowered tops. Purple loosestrife is a powerful disinfectant of gastro-intestinal mucous membranes prescribed in case of diarrhoeas, spasmodic colics. Also in external use : Eczema, varicose vein ulcers. Infusion : 20 g for one liter of water ; 3 cups a day.
